Series 3 altimeter and location not working?

I have just been out with my new Series 3 Watch and when I finished I realised that a map of my run didn’t show up in the activity workout app and the elevation data showed 0 the whole time.
The location services is turned on in the Watch settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, I have it off. When I get home and look at my workout data on the activity app, there’s no elevation data at all and no map route data.
