I have an iPhone 11 and the series 3 gps only Apple Watch. The the phone is connected to lte and I get iMessages and sms with no problem on it. On the watch I get the notification of a sms but when I try to reply from the watch, I get a red exclamation point saying that it failed.

I’ve turned off and on iMessage from the phone and power cycled the watch as well but I’m still having the same issue.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Is this setting ok?

For me, it only shows that my iPad and MacBook are available for text forwarding.

That’s correct - same as mine. Sorry, I don’t know what else to suggest.

Edit: the watch is in range of the phone right (for Bluetooth)? And on the same network?

No worries! Thanks for taking the time to answer!

The watch and phone are in range of one another. The phone is in my hand and watch on my wrist lol.

They aren’t on the same network and my phone is using lte as my watch is gps only. But they are connected. I’ve been getting texts notifications, WhatsApp notifications and have been able to control apply music on my phone from the watch.

No the watch wasn't connected to any wi-fi network. I may try to pair and unpair the watch.
