as the title says really. Just got my series 4 cellular (not connected yet but that’s another story) and it keeps asking me for the passcode every few minutes. I have tried to restart the watch and it has the wrist actor still on. Any thoughts? Bit of a pain. This didn’t happen with my series 3.

Does the size difference make the watch fit just a bit more loosely?

Is there anything on the bottom of the watch that could be blocking the HR sensors? That is how it detects the watch is on your wrist and if something (like a protective film) is covering it then it could block the function.

What do you mean by "the wrist actor is still on"?

I meant wrist detection. It fits the same. I assume there is no plastic covering on the back when you buy it. I can’t see one. Am I missing something?

The watch comes with a plastic film on it to protect it during production and packaging. It covers the entire watch. Examine the back face carefully and make sure you have removed it.

This kept happening to me a lot lately with my series 0. The only thing I could determine was that it was possibly too loose (I don’t like to wear watches tight). However since getting the series 4 last week, it hasn’t happened at all. I think because the regular sport band is about a half a notch tighter than my Nike sport band I was using before.

I had this happen a few days ago and a restart seems to have fixed it for now

eta, I see you already tried that, sorry

Ok so I think the issue may be that it was slightly lose on my wrist. I wore it exactly the same way as series 3 which was just very very slightly lose. However that slight movement seems to be an issue for the series 4. Since I posted earlier I wore it a notch smaller. Fits snug but lock not come on again so I am thinking it is that. I guess unless they tweak the sensitivity I have to wear the watch so it doesn’t move at all.

No plastic on either of my two new S4 watches. Just nestled in the little microfiber pouches inside the sealed box....

You know, you are right. I remember removing a plastic protector but I now remember it was on the charger puck, not the watch itself.

Use Sport Loop. You can wear it any kind of tight you want.

This is happening lately on my S4 watch. I'm on 5.1.2. Seems like it will lock a couple of times per week while Im' wearing it. The watch is very snug on my wrist and I've reset several times.

Odd, I have what I would describe as the opposite problem. Frequently, at no regular intervals, when I take my watch off to charge, or otherwise have it off my wrist, the little "lock" shows, indicating the watch is locked, but when I hit the lock icon, it goes straight to the watchface without asking for the lock code. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Makes me a bit apprehensive should I lose the watch that someone could actually get it open, and declare it theirs. Anyone else had this? Is there a workaround?

Do you have "Unlock with iPhone" enabled? This makes it so that when you unlock your iPhone, your Watch will also unlock if you're wearing it. However I've noticed it occasionally unlocking even when I'm not wearing it.

Also, are your complications unlocked when the Watch returns to the watch face? It might have just dismissed the passcode interface and returned to the watch face without unlocking.

Yes I did, that solves THAT problem, thanks for the info, it makes sense now. :)
