I currently have had a series 2 Black SS for the last three years. It has held up amazing well. I am thinking about upgrading to the series 5 aluminum. Questions are....
1. How does the ion x glass hold up compared to the sapphire in terms of scratching and or breaking?
2. Will my 42mm bands fit any of the series 5 watches?
Thanks

There are tons of threads here about the differences in the glass, so it’s hard to sum up simply... bottom line is the sapphire scratches much less but is more brittle (can crack with an impact). The Ion X glass scratches more easily but is less prone to full-thickness cracks. Opinions on which is better will vary with how you plan to use the watch.

As for bands, 42mm bands fit the 44mm S4/S5 perfectly (and vice versa). Same with the 38mm/40mm.
