I purchased a Series 7 SS last month, and I absolutely love it, only thing I noticed, is my Series 4 SS which is what I switched up from, seemed to almost 2 days before it hit the 10% mark when it was in its prime (Battery Health was at 79% 3 years later when I got the Series 7), where the Series 7 seems to barely get me through a full 24 hours.

I know its rated at 18 hours like it was even back with my Series 4, but this one just seems to not hang like my old one. Is it mainly due to the AOD screen?

Not complaining, just curious.

yes, AOD certainly contributes, but also apps/background refresh can contribute, you might want to check your background refresh settings.
I upgraded from a S4 to the S7 just like you, right around 1 month ago. I did set it up as new (now using my S4 for sleep tracking) and chose the same watch face, complications and other settings like I had on my S4 to get a good understanding how the batteries compare. My S4 battery health was at 100% (got it replaced through AC+ in like July), it would be down to ~ 45-50% at the end of the day, the S7 ends the day at ~ 25-30% (for the first 2 weeks or so it ended in the teens). Me personally I am quite happy with that.

I'm pretty sure that AOD contributes to this. Have you tried testing your new SS7 with the AOD off and see how long that will last?

Either way, I don't really care because I always charge my watch in the morning. Once it's full, I wear it. I sleep with it on for sleep tracking and in the morning it's down to 40%. I just then charge it back up, rinse and repeat.

I have found that the AOD on the Series 7 makes a big difference to battery life. I get a lot longer life with it turned off, but I make it through the day easily either way. The only time I really turn off AOD is if I know I am going to have a longer day or if I am going to be taxing the battery more. Otherwise, I like the AOD too much to turn it off just to save 10-15% battery life at the end of the day.

Same, I absolutely love the AOD and the new Series 7 face where the numbers wrap around the edges. I did turn off the background refresh and that seems to have helped a bit as well
