Hi,

I've got aome pretty bad problems with my Powerbook G4 12 inch. Well about 2 months ago I dropped my PB and the HD was making quiet grinding noises, I went into diskutility t find the PB HD was failing.

However, I continued to use it and it worked fine. Not so long ago I went to turn it on and nothig happened, I checked the power chord was in etc, somehow I accidentally hit the CAPS button and the light came on, so I suspect the laptop works.

Anywa the other day after coming back from holiday the PB pwered up and worked fine, but since turning it off it won't turn back on. I know its probably a HD failure so I can buy a new one.

But can I boot the Powerbook up from my PowerMac G5 using a firewire cable, or is there anyways just to get it on one last time so I can use it?

Thnaks for any help

if your hd will not be recognised anymore you won't be able to boot from this.

you can try to boot in disk mode (hold "T" during startup), hook up a firewire cable to your imac and try to repair the disc if you can use it anymore.

you can boot the PB the same way, too. with your imac in disk mode.
