I know fly but was sometimes it is nice to see the scenery even if it does take longer. I know not much scenery.

Mainly talking about Greyhound. Though if there is other better bus companies to travel on I am all ears.

In western Europe, my experience is that the state transport companies or good quality private companies (supplying transport by bus) are not, in general, creepy.

These days, the good ones are clean, comfortable, safe, punctual, and reliable, and tend to have wifi on board.

I totally agree with that over there.

However, I cannot speak with any authority (or experience) on the situation re public transport, especially transport by bus, in the US.

In Europe, trains tend to be excellent, and buses - inter-city buses - pretty good, as I mentioned already, clean, comfortable, punctual, reliable, safe, and reasonably priced. Plus, these days, buses and trains usually have wifi, as well. Within cities, transport varies, but, in general, public transport is pretty good, and sometimes, it is excellent.

Elsewhere, things are different.

Thanks.

The trains are wonderful there too.

Metro busses are essential to the efficient distribution of crime throughout a city.

I've probably used a bus once in the US. When in Europe, hired driver or a hire car. I didn't even know our state had subways up until a couple years ago.

Last time I took a bus in NYC I was wondering whether my cause of death would be from disease or stab wounds, and whether it would happen before my cramped legs finally fell off from lack of blood circulation. This was some years ago though so maybe it's better.
