My macbook suddenly started making these deep echoey sounds when I watch Movies, Play Itunes, and Mac games. This recently just started only a game doing it but by the end of the day a DVD was doing the same thing. The applications work, but the sound is muffled and very deep, almost impossible to make out the lyrics. I have tried to mess with the sound in my prefrences but that has no effect, If anyone can help me resolve this issue it would be highly appriciated!! Thanks.

Yes, out of the speakers themselves. Although it sounds like its comming from inside the computer, Its definatly comming through the speakers.
Does this same thing happen when you have head phones on? You don't have some sound enhancement software installed?
Do you have any 3rd party applications that can be used to enhance the sound? How many users do you have setup on the computer? You could make another user account and see if the same echoey effect your getting happens with the new user
