Server not accepting USER ID/Password

While troubleshooting a storage issue problem, I had to restart my OS 10.5.8 Server. When it came back up, it no longer accepts my User ID/Password that I've used on the computer for a year. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot from here since I can't get into the computer. Any suggestions for moving forward?
