I just replaced the battery on a 13" Late 2010 MacBook Air with a battery replacement from iFixit. I followed the directions and replaced the battery. I still have the "Service Battery...not charging" message on the mac when I start it up with the new battery.

The computer would only boot with the AC plugged in. I tried an SMC Reset and it still would not boot without the AC plugged in. The AC always shows green. For now I am keeping the mac off and letting it charge.

What can I do to make sure the replacement is good and the mac "accepted it"?

Thanks in advance.
