I can buy a copy of windows xp with out service pack 2 for about $15 from my school. Do I really need service pack 2 to instal bootcamp? Can't i just get service pack 2 from the windows website?

1) Why would anyone be selling XP without SP2 after it's been out for years?!?
2) Yes you need SP2, unless you want to have fun like the plethora of people who chose to ignore the requirement for SP2 and come here looking for help
3) Search for slipstream (on MR or Google) for how to apply SP2 downloaded from the MS website to your pre-SP2 install CD.

One more thing. There have been plenty of comments where cheap school copies don't seem to work for one reason or another, so best of luck with that.
