So a couple months ago i dropped my iPhone on my hardwood floor. It fell off of my bed, only like a 2ft. drop but it proved to be deadly for my porr 3G. The screen cracked on the top left hand corner. The only part of the crack that goes over the actual screen is the "AT&T" logo on the top left. It didn't seem like much of a problem so I kept using my iPhone. It worked fine for about the first 2 months after the initial incident. Now my iPhone is showing signs of slow deterioration.

#1. I drop service no matter where I am at least twice every 5 Minutes.
No service means no phone, no text. A prime peice of my day.

#2. I must keep my iPhone on 3G because of I choose to use the EDGE network, it automatically gives me "No Service", again, no matter where I am.

Mainly, my service is really messed up, and I went to AT&T and they said all there signals and all there towers are fine and dandy so it must be my iPhone. And I know it is my iPhone because my little brother has an iPhone as well and his 3G is working perfectly fine.

I tried to go get a replacement but they would not agree because of the crack. :( So now I sit here with a broke iPhone that drops service constantly. I really do not want to buy a new one but I think I might have to.

I'm not sure if I should just suck it up and wait because I would shoot myself in the foot if i bout a replacement 3G and shortly in Q3 2009 Apple releases a new iPhone.

Help? Opinions?
Thanks.
