Hi all.
I am a developer, and I have many, many files with no "dos-type" file extension, which contain text. Since there is no "extension", every file with a different name looks like a different type to the OS.
I want to be able to open ANY unknown file in TextEdit, automatically upon double-clicking. (If I want to open it in HexFiend instead, I'll do it manually.)
I *DON'T* want to see "There is no application set to open the file 08 00 00 00 NaSelva@6p10+nu_modded whirr king . . .amod".
I want it to always go to TextEdit if it doesn't "know" the file type.
... IS there a way to do this? I think there was in the older versions of OSX, simply because I haven't had this problem persist so thoroughly in the past....
