I was wondering, does anyone know how to set the default Finder window settings to what you want?

I know if you hold down alt and resize it, it keeps that window the same if you open that folder again. However, create a new (untitled) folder, and it will default to the default OS window size. How can I change this? If you set the default view settings of that untitled folder, and then delete and create a new one, the settings still revert back to the system default.

Does my question make sense? Can anyone help?

Thanks

PS not sure how holding down alt to resize in Lion will work as alt expands the window symmetrically instead of setting defaults...
