This is an odd problem I've not seen before. If I make a new encrypted sparsebundle disk image the default display of files in the disk image is icon mode. While I can change to list mode I cannot get any list option other than icon mode to show up in the Show View Options dialog box. I've made several of these disk images over the past few months, and they all behave this way. No matter what I do, Finder always opens the disk image in icon view. I'm running El Cap 10.11.6.
