iPod Set iPod not to mount in iTunes when connected?

I want to be able to plug my iPod Classic into my Mac and not have it automatically go into 'connected - eject before disconnecting' mode.' Is there a way to set it to not automatically mount in itunes and the finder, so it will only mount when I tell it to?

Usually my iPod is plugged in just for charging purposes without any syncing or song or file management. So every time I plug in just for power I have to then manually eject the iPod through software before I can walk away with my iPod.

Any way to do this?

Mounting iPod

If you don't want iTunes to start when you plug in your iPod, simply Start iTunes, plug in your iPod. In Devices, uncheck the button that says "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected".

You could also buy a FW or USB charger for your specific iPod and not have it connect to your computer at all.
