Set up as new phone?

Hey guys, i purchased a 3GS on launch day and it was set up in the apple store...i want to restore the phone on my computer...should i set up as a new phone? the other option is to restore from backup....but im guessing i cant do that since i had a 2g and it was jailbroken. I dont want to lose the apps ive purchased on the new phone so far...what can i do? thanks

Restore a new phone, and then when that is done, iTunes will allow you to restore your data from the latest backup file.

Click on Restore from Backup and choose the backup from the last phone you had if you want to get your data back. For all I know, after you restored your phone and clicked "Set up as new phone" there is no way to restore from a backup except restoring again.
