Set up iphone as new without unjailbreaking it?

I purchased a used, jailbroken, and unlocked iPhone 4 so I could use it internationally with a foreign SIM card.
However, when I plug it into my computer it shows up as the name of the previous owner.
How do I set this up as a new phone so I can put my apps and music on it, but without unjailbreaking and relocking it, which would defeat the purpose of me buying it?

When you sync it with your computer you can choose what apps and music you want to sync to it without having to setup as new. To change the name settings>general>about>name and change the name of the phone.
