I'm buying my 8 year old boy an iPod Touch, mainly because he likes to play the many kids games you can get on the App Store (Angry Birds, etc!)

He obviously doesn't own an email account of any kind so my question is this: how would I set up a brand new iPod Touch, so that he can purchase Apps using iTunes Vouchers(bought by family & friends) as opposed to putting in an email address which has a credit card linked to it?

I

He obviously doesn't own an email account

its not obvious. Many people get emails at that age. (not to bash you or anything I applaud you!)

Make an email (they are free) that only you know the password and use that as the setup email.

Ok - that sounds like good advice, thanks ;)

! I take it then that it's not possible to set up an iPod without an email address of some kind then?
