Set up text distribution list - not Group

Is there a way to set up a text distribution list without forming an open group? Looking to send periodic messages (with photo attachment) to the same people but not burden them with all the crosstalk that often occurs in groups. A send-only list would be fine as would one where only the sender is copied on replies rather than the whole list as a group does. Thanks
