Seth MacFarlane?! what the heck!?

So I was watching an episode of Gilmore Girls as my girlfriend kinda got me hooked on it (a girl is a viable excuse for a straight guy to get involved in these kinds of things, such as joining a showchoir) and I see Seth MacFarlane starring in a bit role. What the heck? In Family Guy they even made fun of the show and had the two girls start making out. It was great he was a total a** in the episode.

And before I recall seeing Brandon Routh (the new Superman) playing a small part himself.

I don't get it. What is with this show?

It's probably the WB's most popular television show... why wouldn't he want to go on it? Publicity is publicity, and I'm sure they put a little coin in his pocket to make it worthwhile.

It's also possible that whoever produces Family Guy, or whoever owns the show coordinates with the WB or Gilmore Girls- and wanted to do a bit of cross promotion.

Gilmore Girls, well I think it sucks too. Family Guy, I love! Especially the early years.
