I've noticed in View Options, you can set to always open and browse finder in Column View (my personal preference). I was wondering if there's a way (I'm guessing in a .plist file or something) to set the default Sort/Arrange By options. It seems to stick to "Arrange By: Kind" -- which I like, but then "Sort By: Last Modified <Folder? Name? I forget>". I'd like the Sort By to also be Kind (or anything, for others' preferences). Anyway to set a default for Finder?

Thanks

setting view options defaults

this is a bitch in Lion - too many confusing options.

even when I think I've got it worked out, I drill down a few folders and nothing's changed.
have done the permissions repair, zap PRAM and all other 'normal' fixits but still the same.

Lion's a bit of a dog in some respects :(
