Setting diskdrive for Video (set to what format)

I have a g-raid and will be using it for scratch disk for video. Wandering if I should leave the format as "MAC OS EXTENDED with Journaling" or change it to "MAC OS EXTENDED". I am aware that journaling will slow down the drive a little but it also has its advantages.

Just wandering what people usually do with that.

At my workplace, we edit SD broadcast video and all the external FW800 HDDs use Mac OS Extended (NOT Journaled).

All the recommendations I've seen have said to *not* journal media drives.
