Because I was having problems with Time Machine backing up to my Macbook Pro (I think it may have been caused by the recent OSX update) I tried removing that drive from Time Machine's preferences and then adding it back.

I am now faced with Time Machine not recognizing my initial user backup folder located in the Backups.backupdb folder. Instead of using my inital folder as a targe for my backups, Time Machine makes a new folder with my user name with a "2" after it. Is there a way to get Time Machine to recongize my initial user folder backup?

Please note that I am able to browse that initial folder by going to the Time Machine dock icon and right-clicking to choose "Browse Other Time Machine Disks" but I have not made any more progress than that.

Please help!
