Setting up 2nd Apple Watch - do I need to keep watch on while syncing?

Hi All,


Ages ago since last time set watch up.

I can’t remember if I can take off the watch and leave watch on charge near phone on desk, and walk off while is does the final syncing.

Can you advise? I don’t fancy walking around and putting down the phone by mistake, and walk away too far for the watch.

yes you can. I just reset mine. I left the phone and watch on the desk (on chargers) and walked away while it did its thing

....so I wear the watch for the 1st bit, then can finally take off once It gets onto that final sync bit?

I.e. I’ve used the phone camera to match the watch and it and now it comes up with the sync message?

Hi Martin, the watch will continue syncing if you take it off to charge it

If I understood correctly that this is your ’2nd watch’ and you also have another watch paired, just to be safe I wouldn’t put the other watch on whilst this one is syncing.

I never wear my watch while syncing. It never occurred to me to do that! I always thought the watch had to be on the charger to sync. 🤷
