Setting up 3GS - How do I sync my 3G with my MBP so the apps wont get deleted?

I sync'd my 3G with my laptop last week at work and it erased almost all of my apps since for some reason they arent showing up on this computer...

Is there a way to replace the backup on this computer so I wont have issues when I plug the 3GS in to activate it?
