Hi, did u ever try to connect to a not-free wireless hot-spot?
After you connected, you fire up your browser and a startup page appear.. Like "To use this connection, you need to buy the XXX pre-payed card available into YYY shops and put the code below" or something like that..

Ok, i'd like to do something like that for my local WLAN.
I have a pc (Windows XP Pro) running as media server connected via ethernet to a Linksys WRT54G router. There is any DSL modem connected to the router, 'cause i have any dsl connection contract at home. The router just do these (nice!) things:
1) it makes available some shared folders to my laptops and to my girlfriend's laptop;
2) it streams music via Firefly Media Server (freeware) to my DAAP-enabled music players (iTunes on Mac/Windows, Banshee on Linux);
3) it streams music via MyTunesRSS (excellent piece of freeware software!) to my PSP, so i can listen/download music wirelessly on my bed without having pain to put it on my iPod mini first =).

Now, I'd like to setup the router as a sort of hotspot for friends.
Imagine.. a friend come to my house, he opens his wifi-enabled laptop, he connects to my wlan, he opens his browser and AUTOMAGICALLY it appears an html page done by me with some instructions about how use my media server etc..

How can i do this? Or at least.. what's the technical term of this "page" (so i can search for it on google)?.. I did some searches but everything but what i mean comes out :(

somebody can help me?
thanks =)
