Hi,

One of my best friends has got a late 2008 iMac, and it has had additional storage (terabytes, approx 10) added to it. It's a Core 2 Duo, has 4GB of RAM so should be fine in performance stakes.

I intend to connect additional HDD's to it and create a software RAID with Disk Utility, and then set up file sharing using the file sharing capability under the Sharing panel.
Bear in mind that the screen no longer works, but adding a TV does display the desktop image. I was thinking of installing Microsoft's RDP tool on the Mac so that any Windows PC's can connect to it and manage it at any given time, if settings need to be changed.

Has anyone done this before, and have you run into any hiccups? I know that SMB and AFP are the protocols available, so Windows sharing should not be a problem.

Thanks for any responses. I'm looking forward to doing this. :D
