I have recently bought the first generation used Apple Watch. When I am trying to set it up it gives me a message that the previous owner must remove this watch from his iphone. The seller has unsuccessfully tried to contact the previous owner and he did not get any response so far. Is there any other way I can set up this Apple Watch.

AW needs to be un-paired from a phone prior to setting it up, I'm not aware of a way around that

Hope you didn't pay too much for it as without being removed, it is useless. For parts only, but not sure how much a series 1 as a parts only is even worth at this point.

You're in a spot. You really need to have the "find my" disabled on this used watch, using the true owner's icloud account. And if the seller isn't responding, there's a fair chance it's either (i) stolen, or (ii) the person who sold it never used/activated it, and simply traded it for some scratch. To prevent this in the future, watch this. Finally, used Series 1, it's not going to be worth the time and effort to try and bypass this. It just won't be.
