setting up email with mac mail

I am wondering how i would go about setting up my email to work with the mac mail program tiger comes with. i use gmail for my email and wonder how i would configure the mac mail to work with that email server if possible. I also use cricket broadband for internet service if that matters.

You should just be able to go into mail preferences and add a new account. Type in your email address and password. Follow the given instructions. It is really easy and works wonderfully. I have both my gmail and Exchange account set up with mail and love it.

what kind of mail server is gmail pop or imap? also what do i put for mail server?

once again you guys are the best! now it will be easy to check my e mail and respond to postings on craigslist. hopefully once i get more experiance with the mac os x i can be as helpful as you all are! thanks again
