Setting up Final Cut Pro on Imac

Hello,

i have a Lacie external drive. how do i hook everything up? I want to hook up the External drive...do i use the 800 port or 400? I assume the higher the better but there is only one port for each of them. so my next issue is how do i hook up my camera (deck)? do i hook that up to the external drive? would it work this way?

If you have the space for it, you're definitely better off "setting up Final Cut Pro" on your primary hard drive. That is, installing the programs on the main drive. Use the external drive(s) for data (movies/projects).

Use the Firewire 800. Yes, there is only one of them, but FW800 drives can be daisy-chained together. You should have 2 FW800 jacks in the hard drive.
