Hey guys

I'm going to be purchasing a new MBP on Sunday to replace my original C2D MBP (2.16ghz) which has the tragic problem of a failing logic board. Many features still work, but the main problem is that the firewire ports do not. This means I can't simply use target disk mode to set up my new machine.

I know it's easy to set up from a time machine backup, and I have a time capsule, so I was wondering:
1 - What won't it restore? Is everything like preferences and applications transferred to the new machine?
2 - How long might it take over ethernet to set up from a 120gb backup?

thanks!
