Finally found a buyer for my 3G, but it's on 3.0 and jailbroken... What's the best way to set it up for them so they can start using it easily? They are on AT&T and will want it updated obviously.
 
As a 3G owner the kindest thing you can do is shift restore to 3.1.3. - Google for the firmware.

Then the buyer has the choice on whether they want to run iOS4 on it. It's true 4.1 solved a lot of the slowdown but it's still nowhere near what it was in 3.1.3. Give the buyer the choice. :)

Good advice here. I know someone who purchased the 3G iPhone off of eBay with the newer iOS, and she said it is way too slow.
