Setting up mail with school email?

I'm so confused with how to set this up.

How do I know which account type my email is? (imap,pop,exchange)

Exactly what is my incoming mail server supposed to be. I've seen that others use imap.gmail.com for example, but what am I supposed to use since I have a school email account?

Unfortunately, that's impossible for us to know. It depends entirely on the school's email servers/provider.

Most institutions will have a website devoted to setting up email clients with their email servers. You could try googling for it, or contact your school's IT department. I'm sure they would be more than willing to help.
