Setting up new iPhone 6

I have an iPhone 4s which I have backed up on my computer via iTunes. When I set up my new iPhone 6, do I just do a restore from backup or do I set up as new phone and then do a restore from backup? Obviously I want all my data, apps, contacts etc. to be put on my new phone but not sure of the correct procedure.
