SO i am having battery issues, so I was planning on setting up phone as a new phone. I know that my computer has all my apps, music, ringtones etc.. but what do i do about my contacts how will i transfer over my contacts when I set it up as a new phone.

Did you set in iTunes to have your iPhone to sync your contacts with your computer or google / yahoo / mobile me (it's under the info tab when you have your iPhone selected in itunes)? If not, you should do that, but be very careful. Setting up contacts syncing after the iPhone is already populated with contacts may lead to all of the contacts on the iPhone being deleted. Proceed with caution and make sure you read any and all prompts very carefully.
