So, I picked up a pre-tariff 15" MBA M4 to augment my existing 13" MBA M2 so I have both a bigger screen and more mobile options. My 13" MBA was my first Apple notebook so I have never set up a second one. I have had iPhones for a good long while and they walk you through the process of transferring from old to new, but I don't want to transfer, I want to essentially clone the old to the new so I can use them interchangeably. Is this possible and is it easy to accomplish? I haven't opened the box for the new one yet... maybe later today.

When the new one is open, connect it to your Time Machine drive and let it transfer your information over from there. It will start as a clone of your 13".

Then if you're using iCloud you can keep documents etc., in sync.

Yes, with Migration Assistent.
Migration Assistant transfers documents, apps, user accounts, and settings from one Mac to another. It doesn’t delete information from your old Mac or replace the operating system (macOS) on your new Mac.

Migration assistant made this easy peasy from old MBA to new. Thanks for the reminder!
