I upgraded to a new Xs and want to set up my IP 6 for my spouse. He is currently using a MOTO G3. The screen is starting to pull apart from the phone so I used clear tape to hold it until I get the IP 6 set up. We will not be sharing music, movies, messages, etc. He is somewhat technically challenged and just wants the phone to work. So I will be doing all the set up and future "updating". Can I have 2 separate IDs on my current account or do I need to set up a second account? What is the proper way to do this?

He should definitely have his own iCloud account so that things like iMessages, call history, etc are routed properly. But you can be part of a family and share any purchases you've made with his (as allowed by developer).
