I've got a window's desktop that i would like to access from either my MBP, or from a windows machine. I know you can do this with putty, but i'm a little unsure of how to set up my host machine (windows server) to accept the traffic. I'd like to do remote desktop, but heard that SSH is safer than the windows remote, for it encrypts the data. If someone wouldn't mind letting me know how to set this up. I've got a router connected to my PC. Also, i heard that i can store on my flash drive an encryption key, so that i don't need passwords or anything, it's all encrypted, that info too would be nice.

Thanks

Hi,
SSH will not allow you to control your Windows via a GUI but only via a command line and you would need to set up a SSH server on your Windows.

I would not really recommend that method.

If you need to access remotely your Windows via a GUI you can use VNC which I think has some encryption options which will add security to the session.
