iPod touch Setting up Touch w/ my Home Network

Hello,

I just got DSL tonight at my house and have a 2Wire Modem/Router w/ wireless access. On my touch I went to Settings>Wi-Fi>2Wire and entered my password ( the one I created on my pc ) then click join and it says unable to join the network. I know it wouldnt be that easy so can someone tell me what steps I need to take so I can access the net on my touch? Thanks for your help.

um, it should be that easy.

1. Make sure you entered your password right (this is just to check, im sure u did already)

2. Try resetting the router, it may sound stupid but it fixes the problems whenever I have them (i blame my ****** netgear for that)

3. If resetting your router doesnt work then try rebooting your ipod (again simple, but fixes it sometimes)

Just check these basics then report back to us.

thanks for the reply, just tried what you mentioned and it still didn't work. I do live in CT though as well, can you just come here & fix it for me? lol j/k.

Update - I was looking around on the forums + various sites and it said to add my wep so I created a new network on my touch ( named it the existing 2wire one ) and then it populated an IP Address, Subnet mask and Router info but DNS was blank. From what I read all 4 need to have info there. Where do I find the DNS info? Thanks ( also am I on the right path? )
