Setting Up VPN to Virtual Machine?

I am attempting to dodge my isp's ability to monitor any torrents I download by setting up a VPN to a virtual machine and then using that machine to do all of my downloading, but I am not sure how to do this. The point that I am most unfamiliar with is setting up the virtual machine. Anyone know how to do this? Once I have this in place I think I can figure out how to get the VPN to work.
