I have two somewhat related questions. What is the recommended display resolution on my 15" MacBook Pro and secondly, how in the world do I make my display, when on Safari, fill the entire screen? I currenty get, maybe, two thirds of the width of my screen filled and the rest is my desktop blue filler. Nothing I try under "View" or "Window" helps. Dragging the edge of the window does not help. I'm surprised it is so counter-intuitive to do such a simple basic thing.

1440x900 is the recommended resolution for 15" MacBook Pro. For your second question, are you trying to make Safari full screen? I am not sure you can make Safari full screen except by stretching it, but somebody correct me if I am wrong.

not sure, but i think pressing the green button will maximize the window so that it covers as much width as it needs to. if you want the window to take up the whole screen, find a webpage that's really wide or stretch it from the bottom right corner of the window.
