So i've been noticing something strange lately under iOS6. It happened with my 4S and continues now with my iPhone 5.

On previous iOS versions the Usage statistic seemed to indicate screen on time (at least under my experience). Now though, I dont really know what 'Usage' means.

My phone is currently reading 2 hours and 15 minutes of usage, but I know for sure that my screen on time was probably less an hour. Nowhere near what is indicated.

So my question is this - What constitutes 'Usage'?

From Apple's website on these stats:

Usage: Amount of time iPhone has been awake and in use since the last full charge. The phone is awake when you’re on a call, using email, listening to music, browsing the web, or sending and receiving text messages, or during certain background tasks such as auto-checking email.

Standby: Amount of time iPhone has been powered on since its last full charge, including the time the phone has been asleep.

Hope this helps!

Usage time is:
- whenever the screen is on
- if there is an application running (such as music, navigon, pandora, etc) while the screen is off.
