Setup iPad mail as send only?(POP3)

Is it possible you setup pop3 mail on iPad to send and not receive. My reason for wanting this is that I do most of my email on my pc but use my iPad now and again. I find it irritating that when I read an email on the pc it still shows as unread on the iPad. Any advice would be great. Thanks
