Sorry if this has been discussed before, couldn't find on quick search. I'm already on IUP and will be upgrading this year (in store, as I'm UK based). Obviously I will be handing over my current phone when I do this. My question is, do you just hand in your current phone, and walk away with your new one, or will I get setup before I leave. My apple store is a long way from home and I won't have WiFi while I'm out, just wondering if I can pull the essentials from iCloud before I walk out and drive home (I usually use Google maps as my satnav, and the idea of not having my contacts to hand makes me nervous - call me paranoid. And clearly over-reliant on my mobile). Thanks.

You can stay in the Apple Store as long as you like to setup your phone...as long as they are open.

You can set it up at the store. They usually ask if you. If they don't then ask them.

With the new feature in iOS 11, just like as you would pair your apple watch to the phone, you can do that with the phone and transfers everything from your old phone to your new phone. After that, tell them you are done and they will then take your old phone.
