Hi!
I've just ordered a mac mini for use as a home server, and I need some help to achieve the most stable and efficient setup with other components.

These are the things I need to get working together:

- Playstation 3
- Logitech Transporter (network player playing music from the Mini. Has both ethernet and Wifi connections)
- Mac mini with external HDD (serving music to Transporter, bittorrent client, Plex, and (hopefully) time capsule backup.Wake on Lan would be nice)
- Apple airport express (old version with 802.11g)

These will all be located in the same cabinet, remotely controlled by a Macbook Air.

For this I suppose the Airport extreme would be perfect. As I was hoping to save 200$ (that's what they cost here) however, I would like to look for other (cheaper) options first. Would a switch be sufficient, connecting the PS3, transporter and the mini to it and using the express for the air only? If so, would such a setup allow me to use the mini for time capsule backup (from the MB air), or do I need an Airport extreme to get that working?
