Slow Horses is the best show on Apple TV. It's exceptionally well written and well made. There are few shows that match the quality of writing that this show has.

It's also one of the few stand-out shows that have avoided the 'Apple Trap' of 8-10 episodes being commissioned without a pilot, only to have about 3-4 episodes worth of story to tell (Invasion, Suspicion, Hijack, etc). Or shows that really should have been 30 minutes being padded out to much longer run times (Ted Lasso S3).

Silo and Severance get all the attention and marketing, but Slow Horses is the real reason to subscribe to Apple TV.

We're all into "Slow Horses." And having tons of fun watching "Shrinking," even though it's way more vulgar than our usual shows. Awaiting season 2 of "Severance," watching season 2 of Silo now. Can't wait for a possible season 4 of "For All Mankind." Yeah, their content isn't 1% of Netflix, but the quality is 100% more reliable. Hoping there will be a third season of "Foundation." Getting a bit tired of "The Morning Show;" I think I'm overdosing on Aniston. We both loved the "Schmigadoon" musicals, especially the "Schmicago" season (we live in Chicago). Too bad about that one being cancelled.

Slow Horses is a very good show, despite being set in a complete fantasy world. Gary Oldman is standout. But I do think the quality began to suffer after the first couple of seasons. Some of the characters became a little cartoonish for my liking. I hope the next season picks up the quality again.

As for Silo, it’s really starting to annoy me now, as it’s deathly slow and you have to wait ages for anything remotely interesting to happen. I’m looking forward to the day when someone creates a humorous animated summary that takes 60 seconds.

As a fan of the novels, I'm enjoying Silo. Wasn't totally sure about the 1st season but the second season has been great so far. The pace actually feels a bit quicker than the books to me, as it skips over or ignores some things that were fairly major plot points in the books. I think if it went any faster they'd be blasting through multiple novels in each season and quickly run out of material!

I think its going really slow at the moment

Slow Horses is awesome. Wife and I enjoy Shrinking - it's cute/fun/quirky and the acting is good. Not my ideal show, but something that I can enjoy w/ Mrs Boatboy. I guess I need to check out Silo.

Silo is a multi-book series that follows it decently (from what I’ve heard, haven’t read it yet). It’s not about action, it’s about the psychology/mystery/politics of it all. I don’t find it slow. I find it well paced, which is why it’s good. But I love classic movies and generally find them much better paced and written than the modern slop put out to appeal to the attention-spanless generation(s).

Doesn’t matter, once my free Apple TV ran out I dropped them. Next time I buy an Apple device that offers free Apple TV, I will catch up on shows of interest.

Just read the books. I haven't seen the show but I can tell you the books are fantastic.

My Mum's been watching "Shrinking" and seems really into it. But it looked like absolute trash to me from the 5 minutes or so that I've seen. Each to their own I guess.

It is. It's another one of those shows mentioned above that only had about 90 minutes (total) worth of story to tell but they drag it out and pad it anyway. I couldn't stand it.

The first season of Shrinking was still very funny, but in the second season everything degenerates into a US soap opera about better-off people.

Slow horses has also become a less exciting spy tale in the last season.

I find a lot of content is padded and not just on Apple. It drives me crazy. Silo is particularly slow even though I loved series 1. Slow Horses however, sticks to the books remarkably well and is therefore remarkably good. No padding here.

Slow Horse is a very good show. With all the nominations, expecting Apple to win at least a couple of awards. Will not be surprised to see other great Apple TV+ shows like Severance and Silo get nominations next year.

Fully agree, the first two seasons were great but then it turned bad. Could not even make past opening episode in the fourth one. There is also a too big gap on actor skills, as Gary Oldman is so great it makes some actors look like interns in acting.

Are you enjoying silo season 2? I’m finding it very slow!

Maybe this is the chance to talk about how boring season 2 of SILO is? The first 4 episodes could have easily been cut down to a single opening sequence. It’s such a draaaaaaag and I really enjoyed season 1.

Oh and unless you have a OLED tv, you can’t see 💩 either half the time!

I just couldn't get in Slow Horses. Wife and I watched five or six episodes and gave up.

Silo is good and we've both read the books..season 2 has been pretty slow, though. Shrinking has been fun, but the excessive cursing seems forced to make it edgy. No problem with cursing, they just seem to add more than usual for shock value.

Absolutely hated Disclaimer. Horrible story line. Horrible characters. And the sex scenes were so yuck we stopped watching. I guess I’m just getting old! Loved the first few seasons of Horses but the last one was a huge disappointment. Same with Silo. First season was great but this one not so much. I find about 50% of the shows to be OK but the others pretty poor or not to my taste.
