Hey guys has anyone ever had severe battery drain on standby when using phone battery is good put the phone down pick it up say 10 minutes later and it will go from day 90 percent to about 50 percent that’s with all apps closed fully

We need more information.

Phone, age, battery condition, etc.

Odds are that your battery is failing and needs a replacement.

When did this behaviour start and what changed at the time?

What troubleshooting have you done?

Do a restart, charge it fully, put it into Airplane mode and see if you can reproduce again would be my next try.

1) Possible the battery is going bad due to excessive cycles or extreme temperatures etc.
2) One or more apps that need to be optimized, or have a bug that is causing them to not operate properly
3) OS bug triggered from latest update etc.
4) Battery inside the phone is not OEM and thus does not produce the length of charge known with Apple.

You can try "reset all settings." If that doesn't work, you can try wiping your phone (after backing up) and setting up as new.

In my opinion, you should take your phone to the Apple Store (if possible) and let them due diagnostic tests. The free tests should give you the proper information so that you can make an informed decision on the best course of action and remedy for your phone.
