So here it is. I’ve had this bag for a week now and wanted to give a short review on this $299 bag.
It took close to a month to receive this bag, so after waiting, was it worth it?
My previous bag is a SF Bags Field Muzzetto. As typical for SF Bags, the stitching, materials, leather, are top notch. I had high hopes. As you can see from the pictures, the built in sleeve for my 16” 2021 leaves over 2” of the MacBook exposed.
Not pictured inside the secondary sleeve is my 12” iPad with magic keyboard. While touted as fitting that setup, it’s a super snug fit and unlike the main sleeve that is not tall enough, this sleeve goes just above the iPad. And in doing so it makes it very hard to take out when the MacBook is also in its sleeve. I tried with the iPad naked and while not as hard to take out I came into another problem… Taking out a bare iPad millimeters away from 2” of exposed MacBook is a recipe for scratching up your fancy new MacBook.
The main compartment holds a lot. I’ve got two of their gadget bags, with plenty of space left over for my AirPods Max (not pictured). On the outside flap is a convenient zipper for small items, such as wallet, or sunglasses.
Also pictured is the $50 tech pocket. There are two smaller pockets inside the main compartment. The smaller pocket is not deep enough to hold the 140w charger but it fits fine in the main compartment. MagSafe cable fits fine in the other small pocket. The top seals up magnetically. The interior is very soft and plush. There is a front zipper that could hold a few thin items, such as a shorter cable, or SD cards. My iPhone 13 Max would fit in it, not that I would do that. Is it worth $50? Eh… kinda. I do like having a dedicated bag for just my charger and MagSafe. I can tell at a glance if it’s in the bag and take it out when I won’t be needing it with me, while still having a separate bag for my other cables.
Wrapping this up, I like the bag enough that I’m keeping it. My Muzzetto is just too cramped to hold my MacBook, iPad, cable bags, and AirPods Max.
