For a while now, I've been using Unsanity's ShapeShifter to theme my system.
Being a budding graphic designer myself, I've wished for a way to access the specific resources of the theme, which for those who don't know is usually packaged in an proprietary .guiKit format. For a while, Unsanity had a utility that would do this, but it broke compatibility with ShapeShifter 2.0.
Last night, I was running Cocktail to clear my caches, and something very interesting happened.
While Cocktail was still open, the cleared cache was dumped into a folder in my home directory.
In that folder, I found all the theme resources, the icon resources, the desktop picture resources, and the cursor resources.
I find this very cool because it first lets me take a look at the theme resources, but more importantly it explains to me how ShapeShifter runs.
Wow, I just typed alot... Well, I hope this will be helpful to somebody.
